Overview

The 911 Call Diversion Specialist will provide crisis intervention and support for individuals in acute crisis who contact 911, aiming to stabilize individuals and reduce the strain on law enforcement.

In Short

  • Respond to diverted 911 calls to provide emotional support and crisis intervention.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide referrals to community resources.
  • Document all calls accurately and adhere to confidentiality policies.
  • Work remotely after initial training in Seattle.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support individuals in crisis.
  • Must demonstrate strong computer technology skills.
  • Provide non-judgmental support and de-escalation techniques.
  • Maintain patience and sensitivity during difficult contacts.
  • Complete training and obtain necessary certifications.
  • Thrive in a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Requirements

  • GED/High School diploma and four years of behavioral health experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in web-based computer environments.
  • Experience in behavioral health or crisis intervention preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Must handle conversations about mental health and crisis situations.
  • Ability to problem solve and work with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Agency Affiliated Counselor credential required within 6 months of hire.
