Overview

The Certified Coder position involves reviewing medical record documentation to determine appropriate billing codes and necessary documentation, primarily in the pediatrics department.

In Short

  • Review medical records for accurate coding.
  • Code evaluation and management to appropriate CPT codes.
  • Code diagnoses to appropriate ICD-10 codes.
  • Meet with physicians to resolve coding issues.
  • Assist other coders with medical terminology and policy interpretation.
  • Prepare case reports and follow up on billing processes.
  • Work in a normal office environment.
  • Must have coding credentials from AHIMA or AAPC.
  • No specific work experience is required.

Requirements

  • Certification in medical coding (e.g., CCA, CCS, CPC).
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Preferred: Previous coding experience or related education.
