Overview

The District Sales Manager (DSM) position is responsible for directing field sales efforts for Dairyland Seed Brand products in SW Wisconsin, leading sales activities, managing dealers, and ensuring sales and profit goals are met.

In Short

  • Lead sales efforts for Dairyland Seed products in assigned district.
  • Develop and review annual marketing and business plans.
  • Assist dealers in creating and executing business plans.
  • Make product recommendations for the district.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers.
  • Provide product training to dealers annually.
  • Work with agronomy services on testing and plot cooperators.
  • Manage day-to-day issues related to shipping and inventory.
  • Recruit, coach, and manage a team of dealers.
  • Administer sales policies and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Business, or Marketing.
  • 1-5+ years of sales experience.
  • Knowledge of selling methodologies and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Dairyland Seed products.
  • Skills in negotiation, conflict resolution, and coaching.
  • Ability to use computer software for reports and plans.
  • Understanding of local agricultural markets and practices.
  • Knowledge of environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision for dealer management.
  • Ability to handle objections and customer issues effectively.
