The Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI) is seeking a hands-on Lead Full-Stack Engineer to be our first in-house engineering hire and technical owner of our learning platform.

In Short

Set technical direction and make key architecture decisions.
Transition work from external agency to in-house engineering.
Improve platform reliability and reduce support load.
Own end-to-end system architecture and technical roadmap.
Contribute hands-on to front-end and back-end code.
Drive and operate CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Establish engineering best practices and mentor junior engineers.
Ensure secure handling of user data and compliance with policies.
Communicate technical choices to non-technical stakeholders.
Commit to CDI's mission and values.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in building full-stack web apps.
2+ years of tech-lead experience.
Strong skills in front-end and back-end technologies.
Production cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Experience with NoSQL and relational databases.
Knowledge of data integration and security practices.
Experience in observability and operational risk reduction.
Ability to translate product requirements into technical plans.
Alignment with CDI’s mission.
