Compliance Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Compliance Specialist works with other members of Conifer’s Compliance team along with software technical support and management operations team members to ensure properties within their assigned portfolio are fully compliant with Tax Credit (LIHTC), HUD, Rural Development (RD), and/or other affordable housing program regulations.

• Full-time Compliance Specialist position.
• Remote work with 25% travel required to Northeast Portfolio (NY, NJ, PA, MD).
• Ensure compliance with affordable housing regulations.
• Conduct resident file reviews and compliance inspections.
• Support on-site staff and management in compliance matters.
• Host training calls for on-site staff.
• Accurate completion of compliance tasks and reporting.
• Willingness to obtain industry certifications.
• Maintain security of sensitive data.
• Demonstrate high standards of conduct and ethics.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years’ experience in Affordable Housing Compliance.
• Experience with LIHTC, HUD, and RD programs.
• Knowledge of household income eligibility regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat.
• Basic accounting skills.
• Strong data entry and proofreading skills.
• High School/GED required; college degree preferred.
• Current certifications in relevant areas preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with compliance representatives.
• Willingness to travel for training and inspections.
