Substance Abuse Peer Support Specialist - Remote

Overview

Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring a substance abuse Peer Support Specialist to assist patients recovering from addictions to opioids and other illicit substances. You will use your personal recovery experience to provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and support to individuals seeking—or in active—recovery with us.

In Short

• Provide peer support virtually to individuals in correctional settings.
• Assist clients in identifying coping techniques and support networks.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards.

• Travel up to 25% of the time for various CMS clinic locations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Peer Support or Recovery Coach training certificate required.
• Experience with substance abuse and mental health required.
• Experience in correctional settings preferred.
• Valid Driver License and clean driving record required.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
• Ability to apply behavioral management techniques.
