Overview

Community Legal Services is seeking a Staff Attorney Housing Law for our dynamic, non-profit law firm. The Staff Attorney Housing Law provides comprehensive legal services to eligible clients in civil and other cases in accordance with the program’s mission and principles of advocacy, other program guidelines, the ABA Standards for Providers of Civil Legal Services and the Florida Rules of Professional Conduct.

In Short

• Provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
• Determine client eligibility for legal services.
• Attend hearings and court proceedings on behalf of clients.
• Identify legal needs of the low-income community.
• Supervise paralegals and legal assistants.
• Develop relationships with bar associations and community organizations.
• Recruit private attorneys for pro bono programs.
• Perform complex litigation and legal research.
• Participate in impact advocacy after two years of practice.
• Work flexible hours based on business needs.

Requirements

• Must be a member in good standing of The Florida Bar.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
• Commitment to understanding low-income issues.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong speaking and writing skills.
• Must be bondable and have access to internet.
• Valid Florida automobile license and proof of insurance required.
