Overview

Community Legal Services (CLS) seeks a Staff Attorney for an exciting new partnership with a community organization located in Orange County, Florida. The project is aimed at addressing civil legal barriers to housing, health, and well-being of low-income individuals.

In Short

• Provide comprehensive legal services to eligible clients.
• Represent low-income clients in civil law matters.
• Research and interpret laws and regulations.
• Develop legal educational programs.
• Engage with healthcare professionals and community organizations.
• Assist with grant reporting requirements.
• Maintain relationships with bar associations and community organizations.
• Assist at the CLS Helpline.
• Demonstrate commitment to CLS’s mission and values.
• Work flexible hours as needed.

Requirements

• Member in good standing of The Florida Bar.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Bilingual: English-Spanish preferred.
• Excellent legal writing and communication skills.
• Ability to advocate zealously for clients.
• Experience in public benefits or community programs preferred.
• Computer literate using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Florida automobile license and proof of insurance.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for outreach.
