Overview

The Staff Attorney plays a critical role in supporting Family Allergy and Asthma’s legal and regulatory functions. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state healthcare laws, including HIPAA, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute, while also leading efforts related to privacy, policy development, and risk mitigation.

In Short

  • Ensure organizational compliance with healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Conduct and maintain multi-state legal surveys.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Prepare and manage corporate filings and legal documentation.
  • Draft, review, and update internal policies and procedures.
  • Partner on matters involving HIPAA compliance and data privacy.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts.
  • Assist in responding to regulatory audits and investigations.
  • Develop and deliver legal and compliance training programs.
  • Support resolution of payer and provider disputes.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree.
  • 3+ years of healthcare legal experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare statutes and regulations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Experience managing litigation and outside counsel.
