Systems Administrator - Remote

Overview

The Systems Administrator is an excellent opportunity for career-minded and goal-oriented individuals to provide exceptional managed IT services to our partners. The position will ensure that the corporation’s IT environment and hosted applications are maintained according to industry’s best practices, are highly available, are secure, and are performing to service level expectations.

In Short

• Monitoring and troubleshooting incidents related to the enterprise infrastructure.
• Applying patches to supported infrastructure to mitigate risk and enhance performance.
• Ensuring successful backups and recoverability of platforms.
• Maintaining security procedures and policies.
• Performance tuning of operating systems and applications.
• Designing and executing change management activities.
• Assisting systems engineers to develop technical standards and documentation.
• Working with systems engineering staff on innovative technologies.
• Collaborating with third-party vendors for troubleshooting.
• Participating in on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of hands-on experience implementing and managing IT technologies.
• Operations experience in 24x7x365 environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with Windows Servers and Microsoft technologies.
• Desire to learn Linux Operating Systems.
• Basic understanding of scripting tools like PowerShell.
• Experience with hypervisor platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with hyperconverged platforms.
• Experience with educational platforms is a plus.
