Overview

Coinbase is seeking an experienced compliance leader to serve as the Chief Compliance Officer and CAMLO for Coinbase Canada, managing compliance in a high growth market and overseeing the Canadian compliance program.

• Lead compliance efforts for Coinbase Canada’s CIRO Investment Dealer application.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements.
• Provide updates to senior management and the Board on compliance programs.
• Manage regulatory communications and notifications.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and ensure policy updates.
• Oversee compliance training for local employees.
• Remediate findings from audits and regulatory exams.
• Collaborate with product stakeholders on compliance obligations.
• Develop relationships with internal stakeholders for effective control environments.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in compliance with senior leadership roles.
• Knowledge of Canadian Securities and Financial Crime Regulation.
• Experience with Canadian regulators like OSC, CIRO, and FINTRAC.
• Proven ability to manage regulatory applications and compliance programs.
• Strong collaborative skills across business functions.
• Ability to execute strategies in a global organization.
• CSI Chief Compliance Officers Qualifying Examination.
