General Ledger Accountant (Temporary) - Remote

Overview

The General Ledger Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.

In Short

• Prepare and post journal entries for payroll, accruals, and more.
• Maintain accounting controls by following established policies.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure data accuracy.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support reinsurance accounting and treaty maintenance.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support treasury reporting.
• Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Assist in preparing financial analysis and reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Support audit requests for internal and external audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2–4 years of professional accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in insurance or financial services is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
• Experience with Oracle Financials or similar ERP systems is desirable.
• Team-oriented with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
