Overview

The Trainer, Puppy Development at CNIB is responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers in the raising of guide dogs, ensuring their development and performance management.

In Short

• Recruit and interview Puppy Raisers and boarders.
• Assess and monitor puppies' development.
• Manage puppy placements to raisers.
• Conduct training classes for volunteers.
• Identify and address behavioral issues in puppies.
• Document complaints and accidents involving puppies.
• Work under the supervision of the Manager, Early Canine Development.
• Collaborate with the Puppy Development Team.

Requirements

• Passion for animal training and development.
• Experience in volunteer management.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to assess animal behavior.
