Staff Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Staff Accountant will support the accounting team by managing CATF’s accounting procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with deadlines and effective communication.

In Short

• Prepare and process payrolls, ensuring compliance with company policy.
• Serve as the primary payroll customer service contact for all staff.
• Handle 401k administration and ensure compliance.
• Oversee timekeeping software and ensure accurate records.
• Manage expense reporting and assist staff with compliance issues.
• Assist in month-end closing and prepare journal entries.
• Maintain financial listings and ledgers.
• Support onboarding and offboarding accounting tasks.
• Attend in-person retreats and provide general accounting assistance.
• Work in a fully remote environment with a focus on communication.

Requirements

• 2+ years of accounting/payroll experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficient in Office 365/Microsoft applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
• Team player with a focus on accuracy.
• Experience with nonprofit administration preferred.
