EV Chargers & Parking Operations Technician - Remote

Overview

The City of New York is seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Technician to assist in the advancement of the City’s EV charging infrastructure and support the operational functions of municipal parking facilities.

In Short

• Support the implementation of citywide EV charging strategy.
• Conduct site visits and field surveys of parking facilities.
• Assist with inspections of parking garages and fields.
• Design parking layouts using AutoCAD.
• Prepare and review engineering documentation.
• Investigate and respond to public complaints.
• Collaborate with vendors to monitor EV charger functionality.
• Perform administrative and analytical support tasks.
• Eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week.
• Must reside in NYC for the first two years of employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of experience as an engineering technician.
• Associate degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience.
• Valid Motor Vehicle Driver License in New York State.
• Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams.
• Strong data analysis and technical support skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Effective communication skills for public interaction.
