In Short

  • Perform all areas of case management, including initial and continuing research.
  • Design appropriate legal strategies and develop a case tracking system.
  • Prepare and prosecute cases or support hearings at various legal forums.
  • Train and supervise attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Work with Department staff to identify problem areas for enhanced enforcement.
  • Provide legal support regarding code interpretation and zoning.
  • Conduct or oversee investigations and research, including fieldwork.
  • Assist in generating and processing administrative access warrants.
  • Manage special projects and assignments as assigned by a supervisor.
  • May travel occasionally between various Department offices.

Requirements

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • One year of satisfactory legal experience or six months as an Agency Attorney Intern.
  • Must remain a member of the New York State Bar in good standing.
  • Experience in areas of law related to the assignment required.
