Fraud Analyst - Remote

Overview

The Fraud Analyst is responsible for preventing, identifying, and addressing fraud at Chowbus. Serving as the subject matter expert and primary investigator for all fraud-related matters, this role exercises independent judgment to analyze complex data patterns, assess risk exposure, and recommend effective prevention strategies. The Fraud Analyst partners closely with Compliance, Finance, and Product teams to strengthen internal controls, support business growth, and ensure the integrity of financial operations.

• Develop rules, risk models, and alerts based on transaction patterns.
• Lead the implementation of the company's fraud and risk management framework.
• Conduct complex investigations into suspicious activity.
• Design and maintain fraud performance dashboards.
• Evaluate and support the implementation of fraud detection tools.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Product, and Finance teams.
• Prepare analytical summaries for compliance and Finance leadership.
• Exercise discretion in resolving escalated issues.
• Work primarily remote with occasional travel.
• Maintain a secure and compliant remote work environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in fraud analysis or financial risk management.
• 1+ years of relevant fraud investigation experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field preferred.
• Hands-on experience with fraud tools like Stripe Radar preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Excel required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to understand complex issues.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong time management skills required.
• Proven track record of exercising discretion in handling sensitive information.
