Senior Engineering Manager, Nonprofit Starters - Remote

Overview

Change.org is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and empower a team to design, validate, and scale features that make Change.org’s petition platform indispensable to nonprofit and mission‑driven organizations, making them a key user group on Change.org.

In Short

• Lead engineering for a new nonprofit experience, delivering an MVP with 3–5 launch partners.
• Collaborate with existing teams to extend existing fundraising flows to nonprofits.
• Onboard into and develop a five‑engineer squad with a high-performing team culture.
• Collaborate deeply with Product, Design, and other partners to define goals and prioritize work.
• Support the growth of engineers through coaching and regular feedback.
• Participate in on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a full-stack, web-focused software engineer.
• Experience creating teams or products from scratch.
• 3+ years working in core languages: Ruby, JavaScript/Typescript, or Elixir.
• Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints.
