Overview

The Major Gifts Officer, Southern California, is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects and existing donors, ensuring an outstanding philanthropic experience.

In Short

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of 150+ donors and prospects.
  • Create individual goals for each donor based on their giving history.
  • Execute moves management plans for donor retention and upgrades.
  • Produce donor communications and proposal materials.
  • Engage with leadership to identify new volunteer prospects.
  • Lead fundraising efforts for the annual Los Angeles Benefit.
  • Organize donor cultivation events and stewardship opportunities.
  • Collaborate with various teams to engage major donors effectively.
  • Provide regular reports on portfolio activity and performance.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in major gifts fundraising.
  • Commitment to the Center’s mission and values.
  • Track record of cultivating high net-worth individuals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in reproductive rights or related fields is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with volunteer management.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
