Overview

The Advocacy Adviser (Zambia and Uganda) will support the ongoing implementation of our multi-country Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRHR) project. This position requires a person with a deep desire to support and nurture youth-led and women’s rights programming.

In Short

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of the ASRHR project in Zambia and Uganda.
  • Responsible for country-specific planning, implementation, and reporting.
  • Ensure project learning is documented and shared.
  • Liaise with partners to ensure quality of activities.
  • Support research initiatives for project priorities.
  • Conduct analysis on trends related to ASRHR.
  • Develop effective messages for different audiences.
  • Support the design and evaluation of partner advocacy strategies.
  • Represent the project at relevant meetings.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with colleagues.

Requirements

  • A degree in international relations, law, or a related field with 8+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of international human rights and women’s rights.
  • Advocacy experience at national or regional levels.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English required.
