Counsel, Privacy and Innovation - Remote

Overview

This position involves serving as a key legal advisor on global data privacy and protection matters, particularly in support of clinical trial site operations and data-driven initiatives.

In Short

• Provide legal advice on privacy laws including GDPR and HIPAA
• Partner with clinical teams on privacy and data protection matters
• Draft and negotiate data processing agreements
• Support legal risk assessments for emerging technologies
• Advise on regulatory compliance in healthcare and research
• Work autonomously with limited supervision
• Maintain timely communication with stakeholders
• Collaborate across teams to develop risk-adjusted solutions
• Assist in business enablement while mitigating risk
• Perform other legal tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree
• 3-6+ years of legal experience with GDPR and HIPAA
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state
• Strong knowledge of international data protection laws
• Experience with drafting privacy-related contracts
• Ability to evaluate and escalate risk effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a self-directed remote environment
• Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn
