Overview

We are currently looking for an Item Development Manager (IDM) with expertise in Content and Test Development to join our team. IDMs play a crucial role in the successful execution of projects at CAI, ensuring tasks are recorded accurately and that content teams fully understand the scope of work.

In Short

  • Write, review, and provide feedback on blueprints for item pool development.
  • Participate in standard setting meetings as the Standard Setting Leader.
  • Manage item development for all content areas on complex projects.
  • Oversee Content Leads in item pool development for state projects.
  • Identify and escalate complex issues and risks to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Lead trainings in Content and Test Development.
  • Manage client expectations and resolve requests in a timely manner.
  • Oversee client-facing meetings including data review and rubric validation.
  • Ensure work stays within budget by clarifying tasks and escalating appropriately.
  • Required travel for this position ranges from 1 to 6 weeks per year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 8 years of experience in content development for large-scale assessments.
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Solid knowledge of the U.S. Education System and Education Assessment.
  • Experience writing responses to high-stakes RFPs preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Skilled in collaboration and communication.
  • Must have a reliable internet connection for remote work.
