Lab Support Technician I - Evening Shift - Remote

Overview

The Lab Support Technician I is responsible for greeting and assisting patients, performing phlebotomy procedures, and managing specimen collection and distribution in a healthcare setting.

In Short

• Work evenings, specifically weekends from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
• Collect blood samples using venipuncture techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Register specimens in the computer system accurately.
• Provide telephone support and manage calls efficiently.
• Perform capillary collections and ensure sample quality.
• Adapt to workflow changes and provide support as needed.
• Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate communication with patients.
• Participate in maintaining procedural proficiency through annual reviews.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Phlebotomy training preferred.
• ASCP certification or eligibility preferred.
• Experience in phlebotomy preferred.
• Proficiency in computer and keyboard skills.
• Fluent English communication skills.
