Ambulatory Service Representative - Adult Urology - Remote

Overview

The Ambulatory Service Representative will perform a variety of complex administrative duties for patients in need of routine and/or urgent appointments, medical procedures, tests, and associated ancillary services in an ambulatory in/outpatient setting.

In Short

• Greets visitors and patients for scheduled and urgent care appointments.
• Confirms and verifies patient demographic and insurance information.
• Collects co-payments from patients upon arrival.
• Obtains signatures of consent for treatment authorization.
• Assesses patients' needs for financial counseling and social services.
• Alerts providers to emergent patient care needs.
• Requires excellent communication and human relations skills.
• Must handle stressful situations effectively.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Works within a diverse community to provide exceptional patient care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3 years of related experience required; waived with higher education.
• Ability to use specialized applications software and computer systems.
• Professional behavior and excellent communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of business office procedures preferred.
