Assistant General Counsel, Government Relations - Remote

Overview

Bitcoin Depot is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant General Counsel, Government Relations to join our growing legal team. This is a unique dual-role position, combining government relations strategy and execution with broader legal responsibilities. You will serve as a strategic advisor on federal and state legislative matters and support the legal department across a variety of practice areas including commercial contracts, product counseling, litigation, regulatory compliance, and vendor management.

In Short

• Monitor, research, and analyze legislative and regulatory developments impacting cryptocurrency and financial technology.
• Represent Bitcoin Depot’s interests before legislators and regulators.
• Manage government affairs consultants and lobbyists.
• Provide updates and strategic guidance on regulatory risks and opportunities.
• Build relationships with public sector stakeholders.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Provide legal guidance on product and marketing compliance.
• Support corporate governance and litigation matters.
• Assist with internal policy development.
• Participate in regulatory examinations.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
• 5+ years of experience in law, with 2 years in government relations.
• Knowledge of legislative processes affecting fintech or cryptocurrency.
• Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to simplify complex legal concepts.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25-50% as needed.
