Head of Health & Safety - Remote

Overview

As Head of Health & Safety for the Centre of Excellence, your role will be to support the Group H&S Director in implementing strategies and plans to improve H&S outcomes across Biffa. You will lead and direct a team of Managers and Advisors who will be responsible for a range of proactive and reactive tasks, all aimed at helping Biffa to achieve excellence in Health & Safety.

• Lead and coordinate the development of H&S risk identification and control strategies.
• Manage and motivate a team of H&S professionals.
• Collaborate with other businesses to share H&S best practices.
• Implement H&S continuous improvement projects.
• Produce impactful H&S communications materials.
• Establish and maintain a H&S performance monitoring programme.
• Ensure the Group Integrated Management system is fit for purpose.
• Lead the health & safety workstream for mergers & acquisitions.
• Manage the EcoOnline software for EHS systems.
• Work with the Learning & Organisational Development team on H&S training.

Requirements

• Level 3 NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Chartered Member of IOSH.
• 5 years experience in H&S improvement strategies.
• Experience in managing integrated management systems.
• Leadership team experience.
