Senior Country Program Officer - The Beginnings Fund - Remote

Overview

The Senior Country Program Officer will play a critical role in the design, co-creation, management, and evaluation of a portfolio of Beginnings Fund investments aimed at improving maternal and newborn health in selected African countries.

In Short

• Support development and execution of country-specific plans.
• Lead representative for Beginnings Fund in one to two countries.
• Manage relationships with government and provide technical support.
• Support MOH in pursuing complementary investments.
• Manage all grant investments in the country investment plan.
• Conduct internal reporting reviews and drive programmatic effectiveness.
• Ensure high-quality grantmaking processes.
• Collaborate with Measurement and Evaluation Team.
• Provide updates to Technical Advisory Group and Investment Committee.
• Represent Beginnings Fund with stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8-12 years of experience in program management and evaluation.
• Advanced degree in public health or related field.
• Understanding of maternal and newborn health interventions.
• Experience with African governments and NGOs.
• Familiarity with Global Health architecture.
• Knowledge of health systems in focus countries.
• Proven ability to manage complex partnerships and budgets.
• Exceptional interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.
