Overview

Ardelyx is a publicly traded commercial biopharmaceutical company founded with a mission to discover, develop and commercialize innovative first-in-class medicines that meet significant unmet medical needs. Ardelyx has two commercial products approved in the United States, IBSRELA® (tenapanor) and XPHOZAH® (tenapanor). Ardelyx has agreements for the development and commercialization of tenapanor outside of the U.S. Kyowa Kirin commercializes PHOZEVEL® (tenapanor) for hyperphosphatemia in Japan. A New Drug Application for tenapanor for hyperphosphatemia has been submitted in China with Fosun Pharma. Knight Therapeutics commercializes IBSRELA in Canada.

In Short

• Provide proactive and strategic expert counsel on a wide array of legal issues.
• Report directly to the SVP of Legal and support internal business partners.
• Take on strategic assignments and potentially a leadership role.
• Experience in the pharma or biotech sector is required.
• Familiarity with healthcare fraud, government price reporting, and privacy laws is preferred.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various types of agreements.
• Collaborate with Compliance team on healthcare compliance programs.
• Provide legal advice on patient services and employment matters.
• Mentor other members of the Legal department.
• Develop and present training materials on legal issues.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial and regulatory matters.
• Contract drafting and negotiating experience in biopharmaceuticals.
• Understanding of federal and state healthcare laws.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage a substantial workload in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel periodically.
