Overview

The Director of Membership will lead and strengthen the national membership strategy for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), focusing on recruitment, retention, and engagement across the organization.

In Short

• Lead AILA’s membership strategy and initiatives.
• Drive member recruitment, retention, and engagement.
• Monitor and improve retention metrics.
• Evaluate member benefits and services.
• Support outreach to diverse member markets.
• Oversee statistical and financial reporting related to membership.
• Supervise the Member Engagement and Services Managers.
• Ensure high standards for member services.
• Collaborate with various departments for a consistent member experience.
• Occasional travel required for meetings and events.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree required, CAE designation a plus.
• Minimum six years of progressive association membership experience.
• At least three years in a strategic leadership role.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Demonstrated success in recruitment and retention strategy.
• Strong budget management and financial oversight experience.
• Advanced familiarity with Association Management Systems.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
