Commissioning Field Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Commissioning Field Engineer at Ameresco will be responsible for bringing new Renewable Energy Assets online, requiring technical expertise in commissioning and troubleshooting.

In Short

• Remote position with travel to project sites (up to 50% travel).
• Assist in the commissioning of renewable energy plants.
• Perform I/O verification checks and troubleshoot control systems.
• Use PLC programming software for testing and debugging.
• Contribute to plant performance testing activities.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standards.
• Complete commissioning documentation accurately and timely.
• Communicate regularly with management regarding project status.
• Update schematics and control panel drawings as needed.
• Participate in the organization of documentation turnover packages.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in plant commissioning.
• Proficient in using PLC programming software.
• Understanding of electrical testing equipment and safe tool use.
• Ability to read P&IDs and electrical diagrams.
• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Rockwell Software Studio5000 preferred.
• High competency with Windows OS and MS Office tools.
• Experience with GE iFIX HMI software preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively for project support.
