Overview

The GE Grid Solutions GSI North America group is seeking a Senior Power Transformers Field Specialist 1 to oversee the erection, commissioning, and maintenance of power transformer systems while collaborating with clients and engineering teams.

In Short

• Responsible for on-site transformer services including installation and maintenance.
• Requires regional and national travel across North America.
• Work includes long-term installation projects with rotational schedules.
• Typical workdays are 12 hours, up to six days a week.
• Emergency call-out services may be required year-round.
• Position based out of service center in Humble/Houston, Texas.
• Collaborate with team leaders and subcontracted services.
• Assist in the operation of vacuum processing rigs and field testing.
• Participation in developing standard procedures for transformer services.
• Technical assistance in preparation of documents and inspection criteria.

Requirements

• Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
• Minimum of 2 years of field experience with power transformers or electrical equipment.
• Associate’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical field preferred.
• Leadership experience and effective communication skills.
• IT/computer savvy with experience in multiple software applications.
• Understanding of electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
• CDL license preferred or ability to obtain.
