Senior Power Transformers Field Specialist - Remote

Overview

The GE Grid Solutions GSI North America group is looking for a Senior Power Transformers Field Specialist to ensure the erection, commissioning, and maintenance of power transformer systems while collaborating with clients and the GE engineering group.

In Short

• Responsible for on-site transformer services including installation and maintenance.
• Requires 80% travel across North America.
• Long-term projects with a rotational schedule (4 weeks on-site, 1 week remote).
• Emergency call-out services may be required year-round.
• 12-hour workdays, up to six days per week.
• Position based out of Humble/Houston, Texas.
• Collaboration with team leaders and subcontractors.
• Participation in the development of standard procedures.
• Technical assistance in document preparation.
• Leadership and effective communication skills are important.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of field experience with power transformers or related equipment.
• Associate’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical field preferred.
• Ability to understand electrical schematics and diagrams.
• IT/computer savvy with experience in various software applications.
• CDL license preferred or ability to obtain.
• Proven field experience encouraged from military or technical training.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Experience with high voltage breakers and switchgear is a plus.
• Ability to identify and report EHS/HSE concerns.
