US Payroll Specialist - Remote

In Short

• Support a portfolio of 15-20 payroll clients.
• Review and resolve complex payroll tax issues.
• Advise startup founders on payroll foundations.
• Collaborate with Payroll Lead and People Advisory Managers.
• Maintain employee data within HRIS systems.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Perform regular payroll audits.
• Own the payroll process end to end.
• Address pay discrepancies and concerns.
• Review quarterly and annual payroll reports.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in US payroll and payroll tax.
• 2+ years in a client-facing role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Rippling, Gusto).
• Passion for startups and the tech industry.
