Payroll Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the preparation of bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls for the US and Canada, related journal entries, account reconciliations, and other payroll-related tasks.

In Short

• Prepare/assist US payroll submission via Workday.
• Prepare/assist Canada payroll submission via ADP Team Pay.
• Ensure benefit changes are accurately reflected in pay batches.
• Coordinate with Workday and/or ADP on payroll codes.
• Prepare/assist payroll journal entries and reconcile accounts.
• Maintain knowledge of US payroll compliance requirements.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
• Protect payroll data confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience in the life science industry preferred.
• Payroll related certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge of US payroll tax/reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with Workday and ADP required.
• Detail-oriented and flexible to meet reporting requests.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
