CS Taxonomy and Ontology Manager - Remote

Overview

The Taxonomy / Ontology Manager (TOM) will guide Airbnb’s Community Support (CS) Taxonomy team to shape and manage scalable taxonomies, ontologies, and other structured data.

In Short

• Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives.
• Provide leadership and coaching to Taxonomist / Ontologists.
• Lead strategy for taxonomy and ontology within CS.
• Consult with stakeholders to support Knowledge Management strategy.
• Manage datasets and reporting for stakeholders.
• Support day-to-day operations for taxonomy governance.
• Work with product teams to build taxonomies for asset cataloging.
• Communicate complex technical information effectively.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Foster communication among internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience developing taxonomies and ontologies.
• Knowledge of semantic management tools.
• Ability to lead projects from conception to completion.
• Experience with large-scale data migration projects.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience with SQL and SPARQL queries.
• Familiarity with XML, RDF/RDFS, SKOS, OWL.
• Strong analytical thinking skills.
