The Patient Service Representative provides exceptional customer service by answering phone calls and ensuring patient needs are met with care and efficiency.

  • Handles standard and advanced call types including insurance verification and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Documents call information per standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains working knowledge of current products and services.
  • Adheres to HIPAA guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Serves as a resource for knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Conducts new hire training and mentors team members.
  • Identifies root causes of service issues and collaborates on process improvements.
  • Supports departmental standards and patient experience initiatives.
  • Flexible scheduling to support business hours and after-hours programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, insurance, or patient services preferred.
  • One year of work-related experience for Level I; additional experience for higher levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in computers, Microsoft Office, and database systems.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with compassion.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance processes preferred.
  • Strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
  • Flexible scheduling to adapt to varying work levels.
