Legal Counsel - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Counsel with 2–4 years of post-qualification experience to join our in-house legal team at Abrigo, providing legal support across various business functions.

In Short

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including customer service agreements, software licenses, and vendor agreements.
• Identify and synthesize key contractual terms and risks for internal stakeholders.
• Create and improve contract templates and playbooks.
• Provide legal support on matters including Software Licensing and Corporate Governance.
• Support compliance efforts, including data privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and maintain relationships with external legal counsel.
• Support the Legal Operations team to improve existing systems and processes.
• Participate in legal projects as requested.
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Occasional travel required for team events.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited US law school and admission to at least one state bar.
• 2+ years of legal experience either in a law firm or in-house.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience with contract redlining and negotiation; software licensing experience preferred.
• Strong general legal knowledge and the ability to communicate with non-lawyers.
• Adaptability, flexibility, and creativity in problem-solving.
• Business-oriented mindset with a practical approach to legal risk.
• Superior organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently.
• Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in Ironclad or comparable CMS experience desired.
