Senior Security Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Information Security Strategy and Analytics team is looking for an experienced technologist with expertise in software engineering and information security to help improve security at AbbVie.

In Short

• Transform a proof-of-concept (PoC) solution developed in Python into a mature application.
• Lead efforts to expand the existing code base and implement additional control validation use cases.
• Measure application security and security control coverage.
• Support additional software development and reporting initiatives.
• Utilize hybrid cloud solutions with both on-premise and cloud-hosted components.
• Develop software, REST APIs, and websites in Python and web development languages.
• Use Git for version control and code management.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 7 years experience OR Master's Degree with 6 years experience OR PhD with 2 years experience in software engineering and information security.
• Understanding of information security principles including application security and infrastructure security.
• In-depth understanding of enterprise IT ecosystems and security controls.
• Advanced Python programming skills.
• Experience designing metrics and reports for senior leadership.
