We are looking for you as an addition to our tech-team in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg or remote. 1KOMMA5° is building Germany's largest one-stop-shop for sale, installation and services related to solar, heat pumps, electricity and charging infrastructure. In Short

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers working on the IoT platform.
  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of the IoT platform for the 1k5 gateway fleet.
  • Lead development of messaging & connectivity services.
  • Drive customization of the Yocto-based Linux distribution.
  • Oversee implementation of security mechanisms in collaboration with the security team.
  • Own the OTA update processes for safe rollouts and rollback mechanisms.
  • Lead gateway hardware enablement including PCB design.
  • Work with technologies like Google Cloud Platform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Ensure observability, scalability, and seamless developer workflows.
  • Shape the reliability and security of our growing energy network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in IoT engineering.
  • Proven leadership experience in IoT and cloud-edge solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of application-layer services and device security.
  • Proficiency in Go and embedded Linux development.
  • Hands-on knowledge of hardware enablement and certification processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate across the full stack from device software to cloud connectivity.
  • Track record of translating complex technical challenges into clear priorities.
  • Bonus points for contributions to open-source projects or patents.
