Field Service Engineer (UK North) - Remote

Overview

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be part of the Instrument Services team supporting 10X Genomics' customers and products. This will include installation, preventative maintenance and repair work on analytical laboratory instruments and equipment. You’ll also be responsible for documentation as required by company policy, cGMP, ISO, Regulatory agencies etc.

• Build strong relationships within the district team to share knowledge and feedback
• Support continuous improvement efforts
• Develop deep knowledge of 10X Genomics products through training and documentation
• Perform simple repairs and installations independently; collaborate on complex issues with mentors or managers
• Use critical reasoning to address technical challenges and implement effective solutions
• Proactively manage customer communications to align scope, timing, and expectations
• Build and maintain respectful, collaborative relationships with customers
• Take ownership of assigned territories/accounts as the Primary or Secondary FSE
• Perform administrative tasks using internal tools and resources efficiently
• Ensure timely communication with customers to maintain smooth operations
• Engage in ongoing training to enhance technical and analytical skills
• Identify and suggest improvements in processes to mentors and managers

Requirements

• Proven success in an entry-level Field Service Engineer or similar technical role
• Strong technical foundation with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex systems
• Comfortable working independently on most tasks, seeking guidance when necessary
