Overview

The Vice President of Talent Management is a strategic enterprise leader responsible for designing and advancing a comprehensive talent strategy that drives organizational performance, leadership effectiveness, and mission impact across the YMCA movement nationwide. The majority of this role is dedicated to supporting local YMCAs across the country, which operate independently to serve their communities. This role will also support Y-USA, the national office of the YMCA, which provides leadership, resources, and strategic direction to the broader movement.

 

This role leads the Learning and Leadership Development function and partners closely with YMCA leaders across the movement to shape workforce strategy, strengthen leadership pipelines, and foster a culture of accountability, growth, and respect. The Vice President will lead a team of learning and leadership development professionals and deliver integrated, flexible, and scalable solutions across the employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, development, performance, succession, and transition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 12 to 15 years of HR leadership experience.
  • Experience in designing enterprise-wide talent strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence senior leaders.
  • Deep expertise in workforce planning and leadership development.
  • Strong business acumen and practical solution translation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of U.S. employment laws.
  • Certifications like SHRM-SCP preferred.
