Overview

Wabtec is looking for a Windows System Engineer to join our Global Platform Operations team, focusing on optimizing server infrastructure performance and ensuring security in a high availability environment.

In Short

• Join a team of engineers in North Americas.
• Support the installation and configuration of Windows server environments.
• Collaborate with Senior IT Staff to optimize server performance.
• Manage technical projects related to hardware and software upgrades.
• Participate in security patch applications and vulnerability remediation.
• Contribute to ITIL processes and infrastructure tools integrity.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Work in a hybrid position (2 days remote, 3 days onsite).
• Engage in troubleshooting complex problems to meet SLAs.
• Foster collaboration with Cyber team for security issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in enterprise-scale engineering.
• Fluent in English.
• Proficient in virtualization technologies (VMware, HyperV).
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server configuration and security.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with Active Directory and user management.
• Analytical problem-solving skills in large-scale environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with IT and non-IT colleagues.
• Self-starter with minimal direction required.
