Overview

The Abudayyeh-Gootenberg lab is seeking a Research Lab Technician I to support projects in gene and cell therapy, working alongside a team of postdoctoral associates and graduate students on innovative bioengineering projects.

In Short

• Perform routine and non-routine experiments related to gene and cell therapy.
• Analyze and interpret data to advance research projects.
• Maintain long-term tissue cultures and monitor cell viability.
• Assist in lab operations, including inventory management and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to establish and modify research techniques.
• Train and orient new lab staff.
• Conduct literature searches and prepare presentations.

Requirements

• BS in biological/life sciences.
• At least one year of experience in a research setting.
• Strong computer literacy and analytical skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and troubleshoot problems.
• Experience with molecular biology and genetic engineering techniques preferred.
• Familiarity with programming languages, such as Python, is a plus.
• Comfort working with rodents.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced research environment.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and present data logically.
