Overview

The Research Lab Technician II will oversee the zebrafish facility at Massachusetts General Hospital, ensuring the care and maintenance of aquatic animals while supporting research initiatives.

In Short

• Oversee the Massachusetts General Hospital Simches Zebrafish Facility.
• Responsible for zebrafish care, feeding, health, and husbandry.
• Maintain a continuous culture of Rotifers and Paramecium.
• Adhere to health and safety IACUC and AAALAC standards.
• Maintain an excel database of all fish tanks and racks.
• Assist in performing laboratory tests and training for investigators and technicians.
• Communicate effectively with laboratory members and Principal Investigators.
• Work both individually and as part of a team.
• Some weekend flexibility required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field.
• 1+ years experience working with aquatic animals, preferably fish.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn and dedication to quality work.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
