Overview

The Field EMT at Mass General Brigham provides essential emergency medical services, ensuring patient care and transportation while adhering to safety standards and regulations.

In Short

• Assess and stabilize patients using Basic Life Support (BLS) skills.
• Respond to emergent and non-emergent calls directed by the Communications Center.
• Provide safe transportation to appropriate hospitals or facilities.
• Communicate effectively with medical professionals and patients.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and stock levels as per department standards.
• Complete documentation per established guidelines.
• Ensure equipment inspection adheres to safety standards.
• Meet DPH/OEMS mandated education requirements.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Demonstrate initiative and prioritize workload effectively.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of 1 year experience at current certification level.
• Current MA EMT Certification required.
• Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with no current moving violations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse population.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and high service delivery standards.
