Medication Access Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Medication Access Specialist will provide medication access and affordability services to clients and their patients, supporting work primarily in the Pacific Time Zone.

In Short

• Review medication authorizations submitted by clients.
• Perform actions based on client and patient needs.
• Conduct benefits investigation reviews to determine coverage.
• Identify patient assistance programs and financial resources.
• Communicate determinations and follow-ups with patients.
• Document services provided in clients' EMR systems.
• Support onboarding and training of medication access specialists.
• Collaborate with team members for operational improvements.
• Assist in enhancing clinical staff workflows.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of experience in healthcare or pharmacy providers.
• Preferred experience in consulting and client-facing roles.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records and prior authorization workflows.
• Experience with CoverMyMeds® is a plus.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding is highly desired.
• Understanding of Medicare and third-party payer regulations.
• 2 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle.
