Medication Access Specialist - Remote

Overview

Visante is looking to add a Medication Specialist to our Specialty Pharmacy Services line. This individual will be responsible for providing medication access and affordability services to Visante clients and their patients.

In Short

• Review medication authorizations submitted by clients.
• Perform actions based on client and patient needs, including identifying processes for authorization submissions.
• Conduct benefits investigation reviews to determine patient coverage and costs.
• Identify patient assistance programs to reduce financial burdens.
• Communicate with clinics for additional information related to prior authorizations.
• Assist clinics with appeals related to coverage denials.
• Document services provided in clients’ EMR systems.
• Support onboarding and training of client-employed medication access specialists.
• Collaborate with team members for process improvement.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of experience in healthcare or pharmacy providers on medication access required.
• Preferred: Consulting and/or client-facing experience.
• Experience with EMR documentation and prior authorization workflows preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding is highly desired.
• Knowledge of Medicare and third-party payer regulations is highly desired.
