Payroll Accountant (German-speaking) - Remote

Overview

As Via's Payroll Accountant for Germany, you will manage the full employee payroll process from preparation, records maintenance, and monthly financial reporting for Via’s 900+ employees in the region.

In Short

• Drive the monthly payroll process for Via in Germany.
• Understand German tax requirements and regulatory changes.
• Perform periodic audits of payroll data for accuracy.
• Ensure benefit deductions and tax withholdings are accurate.
• Lead monthly financial reporting related to payroll.
• Serve as the main point-of-contact for payroll questions.
• Perform ad-hoc projects to support the team.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding payroll information.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant payroll experience in Germany.
• Tech-savvy with understanding of HRIS systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to perform payroll tasks accurately and timely.
• Passionate about process improvement and innovative solutions.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
• Experience in collaborating with internal teams.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel to Berlin once a month.
