Director of Accounting & Tax - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as a Director of Accounting & Tax. This crucial role will report directly to the Group CFO and will be responsible for all group-wide accounting and tax matters.

In Short

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and tax teams.
• Develop the strategy for and scale the accounting & tax function.
• Oversee general and sub-ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Optimize closing cycles through continuous improvement of accounting processes.
• Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and oversee audits.
• Maintain group-wide tax compliance and manage external tax consultants.
• Fluent in German and English is required.
• Experience in venture capital or private equity environments is preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Work within a hybrid model with extended remote work options.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in accounting & tax.
• Experience in a top audit firm and leadership in a fast-paced environment.
• Certified tax advisor and/or auditor preferred.
• Strategic, hands-on mindset with a focus on innovation and compliance.
• High business acumen and tech-savviness.
• Excellent storytelling and negotiation skills.
• Experience advising C-level executives and boards.
