Senior Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

Updater, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design and develop high-quality, scalable solutions while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence. This role requires a proven track record of delivering robust software in a fast-paced environment, alongside exceptional problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement. You will own end-to-end development of key features and play a critical role in shaping our products and technical practices.

In Short

• Architect, design, and implement new product features using modern coding standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize existing systems for maximum performance and reliability.
• Work closely with Product, Design, and QA teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in regular stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, promoting high engineering standards.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and offer constructive feedback to peers.
• Provide guidance and coaching to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Research and propose emerging tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance workflow and performance.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for system designs and features.
• Champion knowledge-sharing across the engineering organization.

Requirements

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript) and deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-based architectures.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical skills for tackling complex technical challenges under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working in diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to learn and pivot to new technologies, tools, and best practices.
